Description : Both sexes of Scarce Shot Silverline are brown in colour.In male, the posterior half of the forewing and middle of the hindwing are glossed with blue, while the upper parts are black.In female butterflies, the forewing has large triangular red patches. The underside is pale orange to brown with broad red bands with a thinner white band within. The hindwings have two tails with a white tip.
