Habitat : Streams with sandy bottom and strong current.
Description : Sisor catfish has elongated body with long tapering tail.Mouth small.Teeth absent.Anal fin short with 6 rays.Dorsal fin with a weak spine.Body blackish above and lighter below.It inhabits haors, baors, and rivers particularly in streams with a sandy bottom and strong current within the greater Rangpur and Dinajpur districts. This species serves an ecological role as a detritus feeder.
