Description : These fish are commonly found in coastal waters but are versatile enough to inhabit various environments, ranging from brackish mangrove swamps influenced by tides to freshwater forest streams, major river basins, and pools. Adult males display elongated filamentous fin rays in their dorsal and anal fins, and they are a bit slimmer than their female counterparts. In their natural habitat, they feed on small insects, worms, crustaceans, and other zooplankton. These fish are generally non-aggressive, and they tend to exhibit more effective behavior and confidence when in groups of eight or more.
