Description : This fish has a small, downward-facing mouth with a blunt snout. Its lower jaw has a sharp, crescent-shaped bony edge, and it lacks a lower lip. The lateral line curves significantly and runs along the lower half of the caudal peduncle. The dorsal fin starts above the pelvic fins and is positioned midway between the snout and the base of the tail. The pectoral fins are as long as the head but do not reach the pelvic fins. In terms of color, this fish appears silvery in its natural habitat. Its scales are deciduous, and it typically has 52 to 60 scales along its lateral line. This species is known to primarily feed on the water's surface and can be found year-round in rivers in the northern regions of Bangladesh.
