Description : The Himalayan Mountain Keelback can grow up to 1.5 meters in length.

The snake has a distinctive pattern of dark brown or black scales on its back with a yellow or light brown belly.

The head is flattened and broad, with large eyes and a slightly upturned snout.
The body is slender and elongated with a series of ridges or "keels" running down the back, giving the snake its name.
The Himalayan Mountain Keelback is found in a range of habitats including forests, grasslands, and rocky slopes, at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters.
The snake is primarily carnivorous, feeding on a variety of prey including frogs, lizards, and small mammals.
The Himalayan Mountain Keelback is mainly active during the day and is a non-aggressive snake. When threatened, it will usually try to escape, but may also inflate its body and hiss loudly to deter predators.
Little is known about the reproductive behavior of the Himalayan Mountain Keelback, but it is believed to lay eggs in clutches of 4-15.
