Description : বেগুনি কালেম/ কাইম বড় বেগুনি-নীল পালকের জলাভূমির পাখি। এদের মাথায় লাল বর্মণের ন্যায় অংশ থাকে, ঠোঁট আর পা লাল রঙের হয়।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৪৫ সেমি., ওজন ৬৫০, ডানা প্রায় ২৬ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে)স্ত্রী পুরুষ উভয়ের চোখের আইরিশ, ঠোঁট বেশ শক্ত প্রকৃতির হয়। এরা জলজ গাছের বীজ, কাণ্ড, জলজ পোকামাকড়, শামুক খায়। এপ্রিল-সেপ্টেম্বর এদের প্রজননকাল।
