Description : সবুজ বাটান ছোট আকারের উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের পাখি।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ২৩ সেমি. ওজন ৭৫ গ্রাম, ডানা ১৪.৫ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) অপ্রজনন মৌসুমে এদের দেহের উপরের দিক গাঢ় বাদামির সাথে হাল্কা স্পটযুক্ত আর পাখিটির পেট, গায়ের পালক সাদা। পাখিটির মাথা ও গলা ধূসর বাদামি রঙের, চোখের সামনে সাদা সুপারসিলিয়াম (চোখের ভ্রু) থাকে। এরা শামুক, পোকামাকড়, জলজ অমেরুদণ্ডী এবং অল্প পরিমাণে উদ্ভিদের বিভিন্ন অংশ খেয়ে থাকে। অন্য প্রজাতির পরিত্যক্ত নীড়ে এরা ২-৪টি ডিম পাড়ে। এরা বেশিরভাগ অন্যান্য পাখির পুরানো গাছের বাসা ব্যবহার করে। ডিমের ইনকিউবেশন পিরিয়ড ডিম ফোটার আগে প্রায় তিন সপ্তাহ স্থায়ী হয়।
