Other Name : Pied Warty Tree Frog, Hill Garden Bug-eyed Frog, Bird Poop Frog, Warty Tree Frog
Habitat : Nocturnal/ Arboreal/ Forests
Description : Pied warty tree frog it is found in primary and secondary forests at elevations up to 2,500 meters above sea level.
Thisfrog has a unique appearance, with rough, warty skin that gives it a camouflage-like texture. It is typically brown or gray in color, with dark markings on its back and limbs. Its eyes are large and round, and it has distinctive toe pads that enable it to cling to vertical surfaces.
Like other members of its family, the rough-skinned bush frog is arboreal and spends most of its time in trees. It is primarily active at night, when it feeds on insects and other small invertebrates. Breeding occurs during the rainy season, when males call from high perches to attract females to breeding sites, such as temporary pools or puddles.
After laying her eggs, the female rough-skinned bush frog will often stay near the breeding site to guard them and ensure they are not eaten by predators.
It can change its color and texture to match its surroundings, making it difficult for predators to spot.
Male frogs have a distinctive call, which sounds like a short, whistling trill. They use this call to attract females during the breeding season.
Some frogs have been known to live for up to 10 years in captivity. In the wild, their lifespan is likely shorter due to predation and other environmental factors.
