Description : খয়রা শিকরে প্যাঁচা গাঢ় বাদামি, নিশাচর পাখি , যার লেজের দিক লম্বা ব্যান্ড যুক্ত।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৩২ সেমি, ডানা ১১.৫ সেমি পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) এদের দেহের উপরের দিক গাঢ় বাদামি নিচের দিক ডোরাকাটা লালচে বাদামি রঙের হয়। পাখিটির পেট সাদা আর বড় লালচে বাদামি ডোরাযুক্ত। এরা পোকামাকড়, ব্যাঙ, গিরগিটি, ছোট পাখি, ইঁদুর, বাদুড় খেয়ে থাকে।মার্চ থেকে জুন এদের প্রজননকাল। এটি জঙ্গলযুক্ত এলাকা এবং বনাঞ্চলে বৃদ্ধি পায়। এরা গাছের গর্তে তিন থেকে পাঁচটি ডিম পাড়ে ও বাসা বাঁধে।
