Description : খয়রা গাছপেঁচা বড় আকারের বাদামি রঙের শিকারি পেঁচা যার মুখাবয়ব সাদাটে আর আকার কিছুটা চাকতির ন্যায়। (পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৫৩সেমি, ডানা ৪০ সেমি পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) দেহের উপরের দিক গাঢ় বাদামি তবে দেহের নীচের দিকের পালকগুলো হাল্কা সাদা রঙের।এদের ঠোঁট ধারালো সবুজ, ঠোঁটের কিনারা নীলচে রঙের হয়। এরা ছোট পাখি, ইঁদুর, সরীসৃপ, মাছ ইতাদি খেয়ে থাকে।জানুয়ারি থেকে মার্চ এদের প্রজননকাল। এরা রাতের বেলা সক্রিয় থাকে এবং ঘন বনাঞ্চলে ঘন ঘন দেখা যায়।
