Description : চালাপুটির শরীর লম্বাটে হয়। এদের এক জোড়া বারবেল আছে। সাধারনত শরীর রূপালী আর কানকো সোনালী রঙের হয়। এদের লেজের কাছে একটি গাঢ় চিহ্ন দেখা যায়। এদের পৃষ্ঠ পাখনার গোড়ায় একটি কালো চিহ্ন আর কেন্দ্রে এক বা দুই সারি কালো চিহ্ন থাকে।৷ প্রজনন মৌসুমে,পুরুষ মাছ এর শরীরের পার্শ্বদেশে একটি লাল চওড়া রেখা দেখা যায়।
