Description : এই পাখিটি মাঝারি আকারের কাঠঠোকরা। এর উপরের অংশগুলি বিশিষ্ট সাদা দাগসহ কালো। বুকের অংশটি লাল রঙের। এর গাল সাদা এবং আংশিকভাবে একটি কালো রেখার মত আছে। পুরুষদের মধ্যে ঝুঁটি একটি কমলা ও কপালের দিকে লাল। স্ত্রীদের মধ্যে এটি কালো।

এই কাঠঠোকরা প্রাকৃতিক আবাসস্থল যেমন উপক্রান্তীয় বা গ্রীষ্মমন্ডলীয় শুষ্ক বন, উপক্রান্তীয় বা গ্রীষ্মমন্ডলীয় আর্দ্র নিম্নভূমি বন এবং উপক্রান্তীয় বা গ্রীষ্মমন্ডলীয় আর্দ্র পাহাড়ী বনে পাওয়া যায়।
