Description : ঘানিয়া মাছের শরীর দেখতে কিছুটা আয়তকার। এদের এক জোড়া বারবেল থাকে। এদের তুন্ডে কিছু ছিদ্র দেখা যায়। এদের শরীর রূপালী, উপরের দিক গাঢ় রঙ এর হয়। প্রায়ই পার্শ্বদেশে কিছু হালকা অনুদৈঘ্র্য রেখার দেখা পাওয়া যায়।এদের পাখনা কমলা রঙের আর পুচ্ছ পাখনার গোড়ায় একটি গাঢ় চিহ্ন আছে।
