Description : সিঁদুরে মৌটুসি একটি বাঁকানো ঠোটযুক্ত ছোট অতিথি পাখি। এরা লম্বায় প্রায় ১০ সেমি, ওজনে ৬.৭ গ্রাম,পাখা ৫.৩ সেমি, ঠোট ২ সেমি, টারসাস ১.৫ সেমি, লেজ ৮ সেমি। পুরুষ পাখি দেখতে স্ত্রী পাখি থেকে আলাদা।পুরুষ পাখি দেখতে ধাতব সবুজ এবং চিবুকের কাছে সুক্ষ দাগ দেখা যায়।বাকি মাথা,পাখার ওপরের আবরন গাঢ় সিঁদুরে লাল রঙ্গের।এর একটি প্রশস্ত উজ্জল হলুদ বর্ণের কোমর লম্বালম্বি ধাতব উজ্জল সবুজ লেজ দেখা যায়।এর উজ্জল কমলা-লাল বর্ণের গলা ও বুক,ধূসর হলুদাভ জলপাই রঙয়ের পেট ও পায়ু দেখা যায়।স্ত্রী পাখির গোলাকার প্রান্তযুক্ত লেজ,সমস্ত পৃষ্ঠভাগ জলপাই রঙের এবং পেটের মধ্যভাগে হলুদ ছটাযুক্তফ্যাকাশে জলপাই রঙের অঙ্কিয়দেশ।এরা প্রধানত মধু এবং মাঝে মাঝে পোকা ও মাকড়াসা খেয়ে থাকে।এরা এপ্রিল-জুলাই মাসে প্রজনন করে,ঝোপের গোঁড়ায় ঝুলন্ত বাসা তৈরি করে।
