Description : Gangetic hairfin anchovy is an elongated bodied fish with a projected snout.A short spine is present in front of dorsal fin while outer ray of pectoral is produced upto the middle of anal fin.Body is greenish above and silvery below.Caudal and dorsal fins are yellow while upper lobe of caudal and upper margin of dorsal appear black.Pectoral fin is bluish-black.
