It has a stout body with a large, triangular head and distinctive eyes with vertically elliptical pupils. Its skin is bumpy and covered in small, granular scales. The gecko has a base color of pale brown or gray with darker brown or black spots or stripes on its body and tail.

This gecko is native to the dry, arid regions of South Asia, including India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. It is found in rocky areas, deserts, and scrublands.
It is a nocturnal predator and primarily feeds on insects such as crickets, mealworms, and cockroaches.

It is a nocturnal species and is most active at night. It spends most of its time hiding in rock crevices and burrows during the day to avoid predators and extreme heat. It is also able to shed its tail as a defensive mechanism and regrow it later.

It is oviparous, meaning it lays eggs rather than giving birth to live young. Females lay up to two clutches of two eggs each year, which hatch after around 55-60 days.
