Description : পাহাড়ী নীলকণ্ঠ একটি গাড় নীলাভ-সবুজ পাখি যাদের লালচে পা এবং একটি বিস্তৃত লালচে-কমলা চঞ্চু রয়েছে।এটির হলুদাভ-বাদামী আইরিস এবং লালচে পা ও পা এর পাতা সম্পূর্ণ গাড় নীলাভ-সবুজ দেখায়।উভয় লিঙ্গ একইরকম দেখায়। কিশোর পাখিদের প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের চেয়ে ফ্যাঁকাসে হয়ে থাকে। এরা বাসা বাঁধার উপযোগী ফাঁপাযুক্ত গাছ আছে এমন খোলা জঙ্গলযুক্ত অঞ্চলে থাকে। এই পাখিগুলি গাছের খালি ডালে উঁচুতে অবস্থান করে। এরা দ্রুত উড়ে পোকামাকড় ধরতে পারে।
