Description : এরা লম্বাটে দেহের মাছ। এদের মাথা অত্যন্ত চাপা থাকে। এর দেহের উপরিভাগ কালচে,রূপালি বা নীলচে বর্ণের হয়। এদের পুচ্ছপাখনা দ্বিখণ্ডিত থাকে। এর পৃষ্ঠপাখনা এবং বক্ষ পাখনা কাঁটাযুক্ত। এর পার্শ্বীয় রেখা সম্পূর্ণ থাকে।
