Description : The back of the flathead mullet features an olive-green hue, while its sides transition from a silvery shade to white towards the belly. It often displays six to seven lateral horizontal stripes, with thin lips and no lateral line. Typically reaching around 50 centimeters in length, it can grow up to 100 centimeters and weigh up to eight kilograms. This cosmopolitan species inhabits coastal waters across tropical, subtropical, and temperate zones, thriving in various environments including fresh, brackish, and marine habitats at depths from 0 to 120 meters, with temperatures ranging between 8 and 24 degrees Celsius.
